I purchased the B&O Odyssey Volume II DVD recently and must say is in an invaluable source of information, especially in the area of Passenger trains in the Michigan/Ohio area in the mid sixties. I certainly learned a lot. Surprised me how much B&O and C&O equipment was intermingled after the merger. There was also a clip of a Kentucky Derby special that had 21 coach cars from the B&O, C&O, Union Pacific, Southern Pacific and Pennsylvania.
I enjoy both Vol's 1 and 2. I grew up with these trains going 2 blocks from my house, and when I hired on the railroad, I have had the opportunity to operate over most of these routes.
I have just about every B&O tape-DVD out there. The Pentrex B&O Odysseys 1 & 2 are very well done. Nice transfer, nice narration. I have emailed them about when #3 will be out, but they say they're not sure when. I check every train show just in case.
Good to see B&O Railfans talking / sharing information about the B&O. It's also good to hear reviews of publications; both new and old so people know what is out there.
Another worth a look at I like the 'Sunday River Productions' presentation 'Baltimore and Ohio'. They have footage of the streamlined pacifics at work. It is the only one I have found so far that has footage of them running. Is there any suggestions as to what other presentations on DVD have caught these locos in action that I should be investing in?
WB Video Productions has a great DVD called Allegheny Rails Vol. 1 - The Baltimore & Ohio. Originally shot by Bill Price, it runs 55 minutes. Great steam and early diesel on the Pittsburgh Division, Cumberland Division, and Sand Patch Grade.
Other than Volume I which has lots of stuff on Toledo, which other B and O tapes/DVD's feature Rossford Yard? Thanks for any info.
