    Good morning,

My Dad was Freeman Brailey. He lived in Grafton, NH, and died in 1978 at the age of 62. He had retired just a year or two before he died.

He last worked in White River Junction, VT. He worked at the Concord, NH car shops before that. He was a machinist.

I remember of him telling me about snowshoeing through the woods in the dead of night, in bitterly cold weather, to get to a broken down locomotive, so he could repair the engine.

    Does anyone remember my Dad?

    Thank you.

Hi Miss Brailey, I wish I could say that I knew your Dad, but I never had the pleasure. I'm sure he would have had many interesting stories.

Welcome to Trainboard Miss Brailey. That's a lot of years ago, (1978 = 36 yrs). If anyone of those people your dad worked with were around his age they would be in their late 90s now.
I hope you find some one in here who by chance knew your dad. :)

Good luck on your search, and perhaps consider searching for groups involved in history of the B&M or local/regional historical societies.

I actually model the Northern line (Concord NH to White River Junction VT) on my N scale modules. Unfortunately I was to young to railfan it but I do have a nice memory of talking to B&M MOW gentleman at a traffic light in Concord NH around '77 or so. Couldn't tell you it was him or not. Would have loved to have known him however.
