Where are all of the Atlas code 55 rail joiners? My LHS has been out of the code 55 rail joiners for a long time now. All of the online stores that I have checked list them as out of stock. Does anyone know why they are in short supply? Does anyone know who has them in stock?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

I went to 4nscale.com and ordered 5 packages. The last time I was there, they were out of stock and backordered.

As an aside, does anyone know how different the Atlas 55 and ME 55 joiners are? I mean length and width of the joiner and the width of the foot of both brands.
I have used Peco Z joiners with ME 55 and these are very tight and near invisible when installed. And these sound as though they are easier to obtain.

    Just a thought...

I can compare some tonight. I was using the ME ones, but found them very tight--using them between handlayed turnouts and atlas c55flex. Had to file the rail web a bit to get them to go on the rail. I will try an atlas tonight to see what differences there are.

Ok I compared the two last night. They are pretty close, but the ME are just a bit smaller, both in width and length.

Both are about 5 scale feet long overall, but the ME is only about 4 scale feet on the part that is above the rail web (so it would possibly be slightly less visible)

The Atlas joiner was much easier to get onto the rail itself--no filing necessary as I find is needed with the ME joiners.

The Atlas seemed tight enough for a good joint.

    cheers

Thanks for the feedback, K. From what you say about filing the rail to install the ME joiners (on Atlas?), I feel the Peco Z joiners will not go onto the Atlas rail easily. They are a tight fit to ME as it is.

    Cheers,
