Hi - I am just getting started with Z scale, actually with any scale! Christmas has revived a childhood interest. I am putting together a layout with some MTL track, and I am curious where I might find an auto reverse unit. I want to wire one section of the layout to run a trolley back-and-forth. Is this possible with z-scale? Is there a place online to purchase units, or even instructions to wire one myself?
Viessmann has a "Shuttle Train Control Module for DC-Model Railways" #5214 http://www.viessmann-modell.com/en/produkte/z.php?id=10&offset=12&sprache_nr=2&gr_nr=5# Or you make one your self with reed contacts and magnets combined with a simple be stable relay.
I used to have an autoreverse circuit with timer, designed mainly for Z-scale, now it's discontinued. But I still have one of the original test prototypes, you can have it for free. I've noticed you live in L.A. I live in Long Beach, my office is in Gardena, you can pick it up, contact me off forum. Lajos
Torsja was talking about the 5214 from Viessmann, and he is totaly right, it is the best functioning system on the market for analog traffic. Apart this product, a lot of bad circuits. But if you put a loco with DCC that can auto-switch to analog, it will also work ! Because the 5214 not only include progressive starting and braking, independent stop time, but also integrated signal switching ! I even modified it to use for a reversing loop system. Unfortunatly my files are in german, but if you give me some time I could translate to english and give more informations on the loop story.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Lajos - I sent you a PM. Armand - Vielen Danke. Ich kann ein bisschen Deutsche lesen. Einige online-stores haben Viessmann 5214 aber sind teuer! Ich werde absuchen. Danke für diese Deutsches praktisch!
