I couldn't find an answer to my question, so here goes nothing. My layout is DCC, but a lot of club members have only DC equipment and I thought about adding DC to the layout...........I know all the usual stuff on doing dual mode, but I have 2 wyes and a reversing loop, and I was wondering what DC would do to the auto-reversers? I'm assuming they won't work, but will the DC damage them?

if the auto reversers are MRC, they will just click and not work ...
i don't have any direct experience with other brands

Whose are they? I have Tam Valley stuff and think you can't run it on DC at all,

So they don't work, which is what I expected, but no damage? The 2 wyes are MRC reversers, the staging loop has yet to be built. Thanks so far.

it didn't hurt mine, but i only had it hooked up to DC for maybe a half hour , then i disconnected the the reverser, i hooked it up again when i ran DCC

I wondered about putting in an on/off switch for the reversers to disconnect them from the bus.........I'll have to do some figuring on how much losing those areas would affect running.........it was just a thought for the occassional guest anyway. Thanks.

I'm confused, don't you need a reverser for DC as well? Do your reversers rely on DCC commands or something?

Not sure about the others but you connect Tam Valley juicers/reversers to the track voltage to work and DCC isn't DC but AC (square wave). So imagine that they have to be designed for the type of current they operate on even though both reverse the current.

Hmm... Just checked on Frog Juicers, I've never used one but was surprised by this,

"Please note - Frog Juicers are DCC (Digital Command Control) devices ONLY. "
