Yes it is true that we have found a hick-up in the run that was supposed to go out this week. We will resolve this, but I cannot give you a new timeline quite yet. Hope to have an answer over the weekend. Sincerely,
HI Hans How can Walthers list them for $138? $20 more than the MSRP!! http://www.walthers.com/exec/search...ds=restrict&instock=Q&split=300&Submit=Search I know there are other genuine retailers in this scale but this seems to be a blatent rip off and another reason modellers turn away from Z, not good for the Z scales growth. Mike..
???????? Hans states the MSRP for a 4 pack is $118, Walthers have this item for $138 and this is $20 more than the MSRP. Cant make it any clearer........Never mentioned the single item price..
Hans says they are $36 for one car. $118 would be $29.50 per car. I don't think they are giving that big of a discount for a 4 pack. Probably just a type-o.
Walthers has NEVER been cheap (unless something is on sale). What surprises me is that it is ONLY $20 above MSRP.
Gang, A quick Autorack update: We are working with the factory now and I hope to have a new anticipated ship date in the next 48 hours. Best, -Rob(A)
I thought Walthers sold only the catalogs, who buys from Walthers anyway?. I also wonder how they are in business for so long. Kim
Walthers supplies most hobby shops with whatever is in their catalogs, as a distributer. I am sure they give the hobby shops a discount, and they regularly have sales and closeouts. I buy stuff from them, because it often takes me 6 months to get the same item if I order through mt local hobby shop, and only a week ordering directly.
Robert is right. Most LHS and internet shops use Walthers to buy from after you place your order. So it takes days for the orders to be ready. In other words the shop does not keep much inventory since they just place their order weekly with Walthers. Walthers has a huge inventory and they make their money of the dealer sales. I have found, as Robert has said, that customers do NOT want to wait for anything. So I don't use Walthers, I go directly to the manufacturer of all items when I buy. With this approach I am my own warehouse and I know what is in stock and ready to go. Once in a while I will get caught waiting for a replenishment order but usually I have everything on hand waiting for you. As you all know the new releases can take a little time as we all have to wait for the shipment no matter who is distributing the item. Basically Walthers is there to serve your LHS and they do a pretty good job. When Walthers has a sale it is usually worth noting but in this case I would guess it is a typo. They have a lot of product from Z to G and everythig under the sun for each scale.
I buy direct from Walthers, I am a casual hobbyist. I also buy at my LHS and on-line HS. I needed Marklin parts, my LHS had some, I bought there; a HS in Texas had more, I bought there, and I pretty much paid Walthers on-line prices at both shops. But when Walthers sent out their August sale flyer and did some add-on printing on the back "phone-in orders receive a 10% discount", it was Game, Set, Match to Walthers when I needed more Marklin parts. I found Walthers phone sales to be helpful and friendly and they let me use the 10% discount on two separate phone-in ordres. But then again, when Walthers decided to liquidate some Marklin and other Euro manufacturers inventory starting last week, they sent that info direct to the dealers and it was not indicated on their website or in a communication to retail customers. I received word of the Walthers sale from the hobbyshops and ordered through the hobby shops.
I thought that deal was from Euro Hobbies, not Walthers. I went to Walthers site, and the prices listed for Marklin stuff were exorbinatly over priced, showing no sale items.
Walthers had a dealer sale on some euro manuf items, I was told no z scale mainly war gear in HO and other scale bits, I asked if there were any Marklin and was told no Marklin in all scales, so it must have been a euro hobbies deal.
