Wow!! I really like what you have done... more pics please. Maybe a track plan, maybe an over head shot or two, very well done.
Mike, Here is a picture taken tonight of my retaining wall. Let me know what you all think, I have not cleaned it up but will do that on the weekend. I'm planning on using a light grey paint. The whole section inclidung the walls is removable to enable cleaning of track [ 06 March 2002, 08:23: Message edited by: Colonel ]
Those walls will make a huge difference, Paul. Good idea to make it removable for track cleaning, there are bits of my hidden track that are all but impossible to get at! Good thing I have track cleaning cars I look forward to seeing the rest of the area similarly treated.
Paul, very nice! Like Alan said, it makes a huge difference. I couldn't see in the photo but a piece of styrene angle glued around the top gives a finished look and a surface for the next step - a fence! I've used wedding veil material glued to Faller HO scale plastic fence (with the center rail removed) for a strong, good looking fence. I tried soldering like Clayton Barry did in an article in N Scale but it didn't work for me, just made a mess. Great progress - keep it up. Mike Cannone San Diego, CA
Nice work Paul. You guys are gonna make me redo my simple riverbank walls if this keeps up. [ 06 March 2002, 21:43: Message edited by: Catt ]
OK, just posted some more photos of my layout at http://photos.yahoo.com/mfiles269 You're making me show my warts. The intermodal yard isn't done yet. It's a basic two-track affair off the yard, next to the diesel servicing area. I still need to refine operations. It's populated in the photo anyway. I read Yahoo will begin restricting visitors to their free picture posting sites starting March 25 for non-members of Yahoo. Mike
one word: THATISSOOOOAWESOME!!!! You should REALLY think about taking pictures of your layout and sending them to N scale mag or Railroading. I love that trestle and the engine house area looks awesome!! (as well as the intermodel facility and the rest for that matter). keep up the Awesome work!
Mike, An excellent layout I really enjoyed looking at your latest pics. As you know you have inspired me to do more scenery on my layout. Gats has painted the retaining walls I hope to post pics in the next few days
I quite agree with the above statements. You really should look into submitting stuff to N-scale railroading. Very good indeed! <img src=http://www.trainboard.com/sigbreak.gif> Russ
NO WARTS IN THOSE PICS!!!! I really like your layout. Your modelling has very high fidelity. After looking through the pics I went back and click on full size for each shot. Still no warts. Outstanding. Have you ever shot slides of your layout? Good slides is all it would take to get your layout in Model Railroader. I would be interested in seeing a track plan. Keep up the good work. If you are interested in more infor on getting in MR, email me. I had one article in Jan 93 and am working on a second one for next fall. Daryl
