Oh for the days when there were still servicing facilities. The street was right next to them. Great for railfanning! Boxcab E50
I'm just glad it's still there! Looked a little iffy in the late 80's thru the 90's, when it was just storage for retired boxcars, and they pulled up a couple sidings. I'm always lookin' for that green block for Stampede Pass to light up! :teeth:
How's the traffic across Stampede these days? Yes, Auburn went down hill. After the Frisco boys started chopping things up, yikes. Yet another of too many bloopers they made. There is a lot of track missing from my childhood days. Boxcab E50
They've been doing alot of tie replacement over in the Tri-Cities towards Yakima, and just alot of other work over the last month, so it's semi-dormant at the moment. Hopefully soon, more coal trains will be going oer this route, and on up to Cherry Point. And don't even get me started on those Frisco Fella's-they tore up half the good track in Washington, and sold the rest!!
Sounds like CB&Q heritage terminology? Out west in old GN-NP-SP&S territories they, BN folks, just called them cabooses. Boxcab E50
==================================================================== A poem I once read... I loathe to think of things foul, to me cabeese are plain cabooses. Like a hangman who knows his ropes, When hanging two, he must use nooses! Charlie
