SBC Global/AT&T blocks ALL TrainBoard e-mail.

I was just contacted by a TrainBoard member who can't log in and is an SBC Global customer and I cannot help this user by e-mail. Not only automated but personal e-mail from us is blocked by this beautiful bastion of security.

If your provider is SBC Global or AT&T you must use another e-mail address to interact with TrainBoard or you will be SOL.

Charlie, here is how to fix it....go buy another domain such as a .info (I just checked, trainboard.info available, and $2.17 for the first year at your current registrar) and ask your server company to get a new IP address, send the emails out on the new domain with a new IP, and there should be no issues.

    Charlie:

Brenner's idea is not only inexpensive, but probably your only solution. In your deep concern about informing your friends of the problem, you overlooked the fact that your e-mail announcing the post was blocked to the SBC/AT&T users. So only those who log on and review the Support forum on a regular basis will see the post.

Another alternative - put the message in a red font and include it in the "Attention all Members" Notice at the login page.

Your IP 174.132.254.146 is being flagged as a source of spam by Backscatterer.org powered by UCEPROTECT

These guys appear to be in the biz of getting you to pay them to remove from their listt - if SBC is using this list, you might have problems for a while .. but its worth while to check your mail server to make sure you aren't sending out junk ..

    Testresult for 174.132.254.146:

This IP IS CURRENTLY LISTED in our Database.
Please note that this listing does not mean you are a spammer, it means your mailsystem is either poorly configured or it is using abusive techniques.
If you don't know what BACKSCATTER or Sender Callouts are, click the links above to get clue how to stop that kind of abuse.

To track down what happened investigate your smtplogs near 13.11.2010 11:15 CET +/-1 minute.

You will either find that your system tried to send bounces or autoresponders to claimed but in reality faked senders, or your system tried sender verify callouts against our members near that time.

So you should look for outgoing emails that have a NULL SENDER or POSTMASTER in MAIL FROM and which got rejected at remote systems.

Read the rejection texts carefully and it shouldn't be a big deal to figure out what caused or renewed your listing.

Earliest date this IP can expire is 11.12.2010 11:15 CET.

    This IP is temporary listed.
The listing will expire automatically and free of charge 4 weeks after the last abuse is seen from that IP.
Expedited manual expressdelisting is available as an option, in case you do not want to wait for the automatic and free expiration.
You will be charged 100 USD using one of the following payment services.
WARNING: Before requesting expressdelisting make sure the problem which caused the listing is fixed, otherwise you are at risk to get listed again if new abuse becomes known.

I'd like to aska stupid question then. Why is my AT&T account was getting Trainboard e-mails the last time I checked it? (been a while) Or is it the new round of upgrades? Besides that, my Yahoo account is getting them now, and Yahoo inheirtied the AT&T email network God I hated that, the exchange to Yahoo was worse than the day Conrail was carved)

I can see if I can switch it back over if I still have that account (was a secondary to Dad's old AT&T service, which he's not using anymore, but I don't think they've canned mine)

I have an ATT account with an ATT email; however, I use the Yahoo email address, not the ATT address as Yahoo is an alternative in my ATT account. I have no problems.

As an aside, one member of my family just reactivated an old ATT mailbox and they do not have the additional Yahoo email address option. That mailbox is a sub account to my primary account. My two cents.

I started getting this sort of problem about a year ago, when e-mails arrived asking me to pay a subscription for continuing to receive hotmail. Pay for something that's free? Certainly not! It was quite clearly a phishing trip and I now use googlemail. Last time I looked at hotmail, I was still being invited to pay to be in there.

    Regards,

    Pete
