This should answer your question: ATSF RS1 #2397 AT DEARBORN 4-11-70 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! ATSF 2398 9-68 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! This one might surprise you: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=118613 Regarding freight: AT&SF 2395 Shot from 12th St. (Roosevelt Rd.) Bridge You too can find these by doing a Yahoo Search, typing in "AT&SF RS 1". There again look at all the fun I would have missed out on. Yes, is the correct answer.
WOW Barstowrick thanks very much for your reply and photografic/link explanatory post I found it difficoult to find pics also because the RS-1 i was reserching is the ZEBRA stripes loco but i taken that in the late 50's and early 60's it had the same duties of those in the pics? Thanks very much again for the very much appreciated guidance I am new to american railroads but i am a fan of the ATSF and i would like to be able to model the late 50's early 60's time period Would you be able to help me with my project? Reagards stefano
Yes, as best I can. There are a number of rail hounds here that specialize in AT&SF. They've never let me down so "Do" bring your questions here.
I hate it when you are right. Ok so I'm pushing the envelope a little. Looked like freight to me...at first glance. Grin!
That pic of ATSF 2394 is from the early 70's!! It's pulling on a heavyweight car-in Amtrak colors!! mg:
