Jerry , Robin and I will also be there.
Thanks , Mike
Ouch. Glad I'm not coming that way!
Awesome! Ill be looking for you both too
Hope to meet you there!
Sounding better all the time!
Sounds like a great time - are you going to be doing any railfanning while out there? Donner or Tehachapi?
I'm sure Pinole and Franklin Canyon are on your list
I sure hope we are going to see a whole hunch of photos! Anything from displays to meet-ups would be great!
As many Selfies with Jerry as possible. Then we armchair TBers can see ALL our Famous Folks....LOL
Yes, Pinole and Franklin Canyon are on the list. Have to get more dirt for the continued scenes.
LOL Selfies were we can
Ill do my best
How would I know you amongest all these peoples?
I will have to endeavor to take more "People" shots. My normal objective is to use my people filter on my camera so that I don't have all those bodies in the way of the trains and stuff. The only exception is when we go on tours and they make everyone dress up in some ridiculous safety colors. Why can't they make earth tone safety gear? Are they afraid we might try to hide somewhere?
Frank Barnes: And take that vest off, too. I don’t want to look out this window and see you in that yellow vest. It’ll freak me out.
Had a great time at the convention and got some great stuff. Work sent me to Atlanta as soon as I got back and I will be here till Tuesday so no time or means to post pics. Will as soon as I can. Was great seeing the friends I did at the convention, and the new ones I just met too. Did some railfanning around the areas I am modeling, collected more dirt for future areas, and rode the Sierra Railway behind #3..... very cool All in all it was a great vacation. Even stopped by the Black Diamond Lines model railroad club in Antioch. I was one of the founding members back in the 80's and it was great to see the club still doing well and looking good.
If there was a disappointing part to the trip it was the lack of traffic on the BNSF. Growing up Santa Fe was cruising through every 30 mins. Several days I was trackside for hours without one train showing up. Glad I am modeling the ATSF and not the BNSF of today. I guess thats the fun of modeling...... recreating something that once was. In my modeling world and thoughts nothing will ever compare to the ATSF in the 80's. Im sure that is true to many around this country and on many lines that once were.
A great time was had by all. I even managed to get a few people in a photo I took at the Sierra Railroad. They are all gathered around the turntable with the #3 that Jerry mentioned above.
Great shot! Even got me in it..... all the way to the right, under the Sierra on #3's tender
Been so dang busy at work for too long and haven't even got to check in here or work much on layout. But found a way today to get on here and say Hello to all my friends and fellow modelers on here. I haven't forgotten about you guys! Will be attending the N Scale convention in KC in June and hope to see a lot of you guys there!
It's been a long, long time! Wondering if all was well with you.
