Sad to read of these things happening. Sounds like you are doing as well as can be done and I sure hope this is true. Best wishes!
Funny you should say that Jim Wiggins.....it just got ugly this week, and yes, she is saying half my model trains should be hers, as well as my house I had before we were married, and the land. More train money going to be wasted on Lawyers....nice. LOL But, I will still not say anything bad about her, at least until after the paperwork is signed and I see what I am left with. LOL
You know JD, after I read you're last post, it hit me. Not saying anything would be a good thing! But I would also watch out what you say on here and/or any other forum you belong to. It's amazing just how much someone can find out about someone else these day in the age of the Internet. A few quick Google searches can turn up and un-godly amount of info. I say that because my oldest Niece is still fighting with her first ex as well as the second P.O.S. that she dated after the divorce. She was telling us, just not too many weeks ago, about what her lawyer told her to do and what to look for....it was really kind of scary what she dug up. Just a thought.
Excellent advice and worth noting. My ex-wifes brother used to railfan with me and was a member here on TB. My divorce has been over for four years and frankly, I got sick of all her and her families accusations and lies, so now I'm not so quiet. Those first few years however, I had to be quiet and I hated it. She still cost me a good job, one I had tried to get for years. Again Jerry, feel free to get in touch with me, this is just a sign of things to come.
Yes...very true. Facebook, railroad forums, all my doings can now be used against me. Such a sad situation, even when your really not doing anything wrong.
Just want to add my personal expressions of best wishes. Our paths don't cross much here on TB but I follow yours quietly admiring your postings, subject and content. I can say based on what I have discerned about you from your work that you will make your own luck and life will be very good once again.
I want to say something here. Perhaps privately would be better. I do want to wish you well and hope everything settles down into a amicable separation, with emphasis on a fair outcome. I hope you won't mind a prayer warrior asking for only what the Great Spirit can provide. You take care of yourself, you are the only self you have.
And if I cant find any.....well then I do this with my awesome Grandson Caleb, like we did today and had a blast!
When does this ever get old? I asked with a knowing grin. Jerry, Thanks for sharing the video. Is this a stove you get to hog?
I was working towards that goal Rick and worked on her and did some mechanical training in Chattanooga. Was getting my required hours and sent TVRM my engineer files from the ATN to speed up the process and this year the FRA co-mingled hours of service on volunteer museums with regular hours of service. With the new HOS laws on time off it basically ment if I worked my regular 5 days on the ATN Monday-Friday, and then went to 'work' running this on the TVRM, even though its a 'volunteer' group, on Saturday its a 6th start and after 6 starts you must have 48 hours off. So, I would not be able to come to work at the ATN on Monday without violating the HOS rest period. So basically, work and get a paycheck, or go up there and 'play' railroader and do something else M-F. Watching this video I wonder if I am making the right choice. LOL I will always stay involved with the TVRM as long as I am here, and learning what I can from them and when I retire, if we cant find some loophole that allows me to operate with them before that, I will have the best retirement job waiting for me. Thats my plan and I am sticking to it.
That would be the best Russell, and a dream I have. Actually, I will probably be firing and he will be running as much as he is getting into this.
Jerry, that's a wonderful video. What an experience for Caleb, and his Grampa. Looked like 630 was really humping, her valve gear was almost a blur. What is track speed, and was she doing it? It's hard to judge with her small drivers. However, I'm disappointed in the fireman, he let her safety pop three times during the four minutes of your video. Though he did keep stack gas clear except when he was firing, so he can't be all that bad. LOL
Track speed is 50mph here, but the best I clocked was 45mph, which is pretty good for a smaller 2-8-0. Yes, pops went off pretty regular for a 4 min video.....LOL
Jerry, been there, done that 17 years ago. Trust me, no matter how nice you "think" she is the fangs will come out and she and her lawyer will go after everything you have even if it was before you were married. Here in California the women is never wrong. Not sure how it is in your state. I ended up losing over half of my assets even through most of what I has was before we were married. I had to even buy back half my own boat that I bought 2 years before we were married. Talk about being pissed. The only good thing is she blew it all, over half a million dollars and ended up losing her house she was GIVEN from her grandmother. Dumb *^#&@. Payback is a good thing.
