This is a very special model I have kept mint for a very long time, but it is now time to start up-grading it with windows, and a number. The reason it is special is that this was the original PFM N Scale F40PH that was sent to the owner of PFM for final approval to begin production.
Until I get the others done, F40PH 230 will be doing alot of the work hauling passenger trains many miles.
My Cab-Forward got a lube job and a new crew and changed the front coupler today. One thing left to do....and thats run it!
It's amazing how things change so much and still stay the same. That sugar beet train totally reminds me of the export ore train that I saw snaking around Pinole last week. By the way, really good snakiness.
Here's some export coal.....LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwCXS9xH8NU&list=UUDG91xdnjOHVEK4-4ahmgDg&index=2&feature=plcp
Jerry, I went back and skimmed through your posts. I really like what you've done to the layout since the owl incident! Glad to see that you overcame your feathered fiend and got back at it! Kudos! Allen...
Jerry, the shimmering of the water in the sugar beet video is great. There was just enough movement with the camera that it looks like the waves actually are rolling in towards shore. BTW, I didn't know you grew so many beets in your back yard...LOL
I need to grow more.....I want about 12 more cars on that train. The great thing about that train is all I have to do is change power and it still works from steam to diesel. As far back as I can remember watching the SP growing up, there was always Sugar Beets rolling. As for the Ocean, I got a nice kit of a Derrick I am going to be building and putting to work out there.
Hitching a ride on what Nick said. Love the back-up that looks absolutely amazing. A flash back to better days.
I don't even know if I've ever said anything about your layout, but I did want to pop in here and say OMG it's so beautiful! It's like a beautiful day in a beautiful place where I just want to sit and look. The rip-rap on your beach is perfect with the algae stains, I can see the sand in the shallow water, I love the way the water sparkles, the way you vary your vegetation is great and your rock work is great. I don't have any idea what size your layout is, but your ability to make each scene very complex yet simple is just amazing. I'm so glad you didn't let those weird wild pets of yours get you down. Just wanted to say all that...
