I now will start adding more foam and then mold a scene over everything. I also have to add the section where the houses will be.
Those are from Monroe Models. I just cut them down to the size close to what I needed. Once I get more foam and scenery down so I get a good fit on the bridge, I will paint the beams black and weathered, and the retaining walls/supports a concrete color.
Well I just chewed through 68 pages of this thread, I can see why there's so many pages! Pinole looks awesome from what I saw and your new section looks like it's coming along nicely. I'll definitely be catching up more on this thread later on!
This reminds me of a friend of mine back in the 70's. He had a Ford van (no side windows) painted in daylight colors with a air horn to boot. Great fun railfanning in that vehicle. Spent many a day (and night) chasing trains along the Mop and SP. Then the UP took over the Mop and he moved to Tulsa and I quit railfanning all together.
Tonight I got the road to the end of the layout on the east end. I didnt go throught the bridge yet, because I still have more to do for final placement. Then I'll finish the road through there. Also added more tuffs. Photos to follow later this week.
Thanks Cliff! Just went through your photos and you have an impressive layout there yourself! Nice modeling.
