Here is my version of the GP60. I started it a couple of weeks ago but got inspired by teachaipi fan's GP60 shell. Mine is a Santa Fe prototype with the ratchet style handbrake. It started out with a non dynamic KATO GP50. I added a blower housing off an Atlas SD60 on the firemans side, Atlas SD60 nose, with ratchet handbrake spliced in, kitbashed dynamic brake housing using various doors and louvers off some SD60 shells, also a fan from an SD60, and a Sunrise dynamic brake vent. What do you think? Brian [ 13 May 2002, 20:53: Message edited by: brian ]
Brian Got those pesky red X's instead of the photos but I got the photo links from the source code GOOD JOB eNjoy
Very nice Brian I have never had the time recently to do any kitbashing, but when seeing models like that, and some of Russ's, I am tempted to try my hand, maybe a Santa Fe GP60M and GP60B?
Added some details, now ready for painting. Photo is a little better, I took it outside in the sunlight. Brian
the model is looking great be sure to post pics once you have painted it. I believe Life Like are doing a GP60 in HO if this is true and Lifelike do what they have done with previous models we may have one in N scale
Brian- Unit looks great! (I saw it before the pictures went away but was too busy to comment). Glad to be of any inspiration! Russ
It looks great Brian. I envy all you people who have the nack to remodel shells. I tried one and demolished it.
Ok, here are the finnished pictures. If they don't show up you can click on these links and they should show up. This unit is one from the second group of 20 GP60's that the Santa Fe recieved. It has the squared off dynamic brake housing instead of the more rounded one that came on the Santa Fe's first group of 60's. It is modeled just like the Athearn one in HO scale. http://bria-n-scale.freeservers.com/images/atsfgp60_001.jpg http://bria-n-scale.freeservers.com/images/atsfgp60_004.jpg http://bria-n-scale.freeservers.com/images/atsfgp60_003.jpg Brian
All the pictures show up fine for me Brian. Very nicely done. Impressive to say the least. I haven't tried to do anything with locos yet but your efforts enspire me to get going.
I tried last night and the photos did not show, but they are all there this morning Excellent, Brian!
