This is actually moving along faster then I thought it would with my back hurting like it is. Amazing how much you can do a little bit at a time!
Last for today, I put a homemade antenna stand and BLMA sinclair antenna on top of the cupola, and got the side window panels installed.
Other side. This caboose is being done somewhat different then the first one, but the biggest thing for me is not being able to bend over and look up close at the work I am doing. The rods in my back prevent some movement, and the 6 1/2 inch incision with 31 staples also prevents much bending. It's like I have to do something at arms length, then bring to my eyes, then make adjustment at arms length, bring back up to eyes. LOL Very different then what I am used to!
One last look. I think this caboose is ready for the paint booth. That may take awhile since I can't move the compressor right now. So, until then.....
More like the price of fuel in the UK since January - Diesel's now over £5 a gallon ($10), and Petrol's not all that far behind :tb-hissyfit:
Thanks to my other half, the compressor was moved and I was able to airbrush a light coat on the caboose.
Since I am going to hit the sides of the caboose again later, I figured I would at least finish the cupola. Painted inside the window black for the rubber gaskets used on these windows, and silver on the rim. Also added the numbers and side wind deflectors.
These class of cabooses had sliding windows like a locomotive that slide inside the cupola. I tried to duplicate that by putting a window inside the cupola close to the wall.
