I re-installed the wheels to help with centering the lettering. I found a picture I took in 1982 of 999304, a CE-1, running through my home town, so I numbered this one like that, as it has the same window configuration.
Let this all set up over night, glosscoat it, then start painting the railings, add a few more details, windows, couplers, done.
Well the missing ladder grab on the top was bugging me so I bent some wire and glued it in place. Not a perfect match, but better then not having it at all. (Safety First.)
Hobby Lobby had a 50% off sell on all paint brushes, so I got some really good quality very fine brushes. Was a big help on the railings!
This morning I hit the caboose with gloss coat. Once dry, I put the couplers on, a smoke stack, toolbox, and filled the windows in with window maker. I also drilled a hole on each end step and installed a holder for the coupler cut lever. After the glue sets on the holders I'll add the cut levers and paint the coupler boxes and cut levers.
Beautiful job, Jerry! You know, once you build one, the rest of the fleet isn't far behind! If you need extra Atlas cabeese shells, I might have some...
