    Hi all,

Just wanted to again thank those who responded to my request for Atlas Ore Hoppers. Attached is the first one I finished. The model was first painted with rust and then using water with salt sprinkled on, oversprayed the yellow. Once dry all you have to do is wash the salt off and you have the effect. A little air brushing grime and your good to go. I made up some custom decals for the other units...this one is an industrial purchase to brake up the string of common carriers. I installed Archbar Trucks for a more vintage look and mounted 905 Body Mount Z couplers as with all my rolling stock.

    Cheers

    Very cool effect!
Hadn't thought about using salt before.
I like how you can see the paint curling back in some places.
    Great job!

Fantastic looking car, Joe! I've used the salt method on larger scale cars and it works great. I've never thought about using it on anything N before, but I may give it a shot!

    Great job!
