January is the Month for Deals on Atlas Track, Structures & Accessories! This January may be the last opportunity for savvy modelers to stock up on Atlas products at 2005 prices. For those building or working on their layouts this winter, January is the time to buy. In anticipation of price increases in 2006, Atlas has made available to its distributors an opportunity to “beat the price increase” by ordering track, structures, layouts and accessories through January 31, 2006 at 2005 prices. “While many direct and indirect costs increased significantly in the last few years, Atlas has maintained prices since 2003,” said Joe Kolnoski, vice-president, sales. “Due to explosive growth in the cost of fuel and raw materials, along with substantial increases in transportation, labor, healthcare and other operating expenses during 2005, Atlas must increase prices in 2006, by approximately 10%. So, visiting your hobby shop during January can reap significant savings for those looking to build or expand their layouts.” The new Atlas Model prices go into effect on February 1, 2006. Atlas has notified more than 1,000 authorized Atlas hobby stores of the coming increase. Over 150,000 Atlas HO and N scale modelers will be informed via an e-mail broadcast encouraging them to visit their favorite Atlas hobby store and stock up before February 1st.
