Need some advice and counsel on an Atlas MP15DC in which I've just installed an NCE decoder drop-in board... 1) How does the light shield fit back into the shell? It fell out when I popped the shell off before I could observe the proper placement. 2) The loco runs fine on DCC, except that the lights are "backwards"-- the rear light is on when the loco runs forward and the front light is on when it's in reverse. Reset to factory settings didn't help, also tried the "Direction of operation is reversed" bit (CV 29). Any ideas?
on the back of the mech there are notches were the light shield drop into. When you put the shell back on there is a piece of clear plastic inside the cab that goes in to the light shield so be carefull when you put it back on. As far as the lights I don't know since I use Digitrax decoder on mine.
George, I think you will need to reconfigure the light outputs. Try CV120=2, CV121=1 - this should reverse the lights and maintain steady on in direction of travel and F0 control.
Gary, thanks for the CV inputs... they did the trick. Now to get that light shield back in place... thanks, Sundowner. Edit: All fixed now!
If you want to play with lighting effects on your NCE board, you can set CV120 to 044 and CV121 to 040. What will happen is all the lights stay on, but will dim or brighten depending on direction of travel.
