Just a suggestion, use the detail parts to create upgrade kits for the Trainman line. That way, beginners can have lower cost introductory models but with the option of upgrading their appearance later on as their interest in the hobby deepens. I'm also looking forward to what Atlas does with BLMA's signal line.
If your thinking N scale. I'd say nothing. Atlas has it's own line, and BLMA pretty much gave up on the N line, as they couldn't get it scaled down.
I thought BLMA did a great job with N Scale. And their Detail parts were nice and about one of the few companies that still produced them. But that's my opinion
I am glad to see that BLMA products will continue to be available. One concern I have is how much will the price points be increased? Now how do we convince Sunrise Enterprises and JnJ to turn their products over to Atlas?
I just picked up one of Atlas' Great Falls Beer reefers in N and find the detail amazingly well done. The lettering is crisp and legible in it's tiniest print. So I am thinking hopefully it will all work out well. So Paul, have y'all ever approached Walthers about picking up all of their N stuff that they refuse to re-run?? Seems senseles to make a small run that sells out and then never re-run them, The 2-8-8-2, 0-8-0 and others for example.
I the first time I feel very sorry for the BLMA – Team. I hope all of the Team can keep their job? The Models they did have been the best you can find in N-Scale! I hope we still get the high quality models. I also run a lot of Atlas products on my layout and I love them to! Is it true that Atlas also produces the special parts like Radio Antenna Towers and so one? I am looking forward to see what’s going on
Quick question because I forget. Where is BLMA manufactured at? Is it still all American made? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Just to toot Atlas' horn a bit...... I had to use my camera to enlarge this so I could read it! If this kind of detail is a hint, and the now acquisition of BLMA are an indication of the direction they are heading, well things are looking up! My nickels worth. Thanks Atlas!
Congrats to Craig I my myself am trying not to get to wrapped up in what ifs or to speculate. I am looking at this as a positive thing. With Craig's input I think that with atlas production systems maybe this will improve production and possibly some new things will develop. I think we should embrace this merger/buyout because we do not need to loose any more manufactures. Thanks Just putting in my two cents Larry
What do we have here two posts going at the same time? Time will tell but I haven't been happy with the offerings from track to train equipment put out by Atlas. IE., the reproduction of the GP 30 with stove pipe handrails. Pardon me for being the frowner, doubter and for throwing a wet blanket on things. I'm not very optimistic about BLMA switching hands to Atlas. That's like a step backwards as in reduction of quality. If it had been Intermountain, Broadway Limited or Fox Valley Models I would have been pleased and supportive. Nonetheless, the best to all and I can only hope this works out to be a good thing. Oh well it is what it is.
Will we be seeing the "Famous Brunswick Bowling Allies of North America" series on his reefers anytime soon? lol Joe
