Get em while they are hot! NEW PAINT SCHEMES! Atlas N RS-1 Locomotives http://www.atlasrr.com/NLoco/nrs1b.htm NEW ROAD NAMES & ROAD NUMBERS! Atlas N 90 Ton Hoppers http://www.atlasrr.com/NFreight/n90tonhopnew4.htm NEW ROAD NAMES! Atlas N 40' Wood Reefers http://www.atlasrr.com/NFreight/nreefer5.htm
It seem's like it has been a while since Atlas has announced anything new. Don't remember a dry spell this long.
OK, I'll bite: The Illinois Terminal RS-1 is interesting to this N&W fan. I would be more interested in the PRR and B&O locos in an "as delivered" scheme, however. Nice to see the AnnArbor offered. My pick of that litter is the Spokane International. I gotta get one of those for certain! Another BAR reefer - gotta get one of those, too, and the CP with the unique maple leaf herald will surely find a spot on my roster. I'm struggling to build a proper hopper train for my SD50s which means I will buy the 90T D&RGW 3-bay. I have a few other Atlas with different numbers and bought all 3 of the recent sets of Trainworx Rio Grande cars. I have a lonnnnnng way to go to have enough hoppers to justify the 4 SD50s I have available for duty on the Long Beach / LA Harbor hopper trains we saw between Delta and Paonia every summer we spent up by the Grand Mesa in the 1980's.
I plan on getting a few of the D&RGW hoppers, well, about 25 of them.. That's still the price of a new tunnel motor!
A Direct hit. Square in the wallet! Atlas finally listened to my pleas for the Borden's Fine Cheeses red white and blue reefer, which was one of the first offered in O scale. Gotta get the Monarch, Crisco, and MRS-Ralston Purina, too. Maybe even the Skyland Eggs. BTW, it's been 15 months since Atlas announced a totally new N scale product, Tony.
What do you guys think of the Black River and Western RS1's? I like the scheme wit hthe large BRW on it. Nothing announced even comes close to fitting my modren stuff, but there are a few things that do tempt me.
I have to agree about the IT RS1. It was what drew me into perusing the announcement. As discussed on another forum, older non DCC units just aren't going to draw me anymore. None of that stuff is stuff I need.
Hemi, what decal matches the factory printing on the Atlas car, if any? I'll buy more than one if I know I can renumber them. I just spent 3 months rooting out and selling about 300 duplicate-numbered freight cars from my running roster, and may have at least that many dupes left! Bob Woods
