    Greetings!

I have 2 Atlas Master Series (DCC-Decoder equipped) locos that used to work fine, but for some reason the decoders are fried or just weird.

I can put either loco on my Digitrax programming track and read back the 4-digit address, read back various CV values, and even do a factory reset. All the readbacks are correct. However, when placed on the main the loco will NOT move. The only response I can get from the decoder is I can get the rear (only) lights to turn on and off.

When I move the jumper from DCC to DC the loco runs just fine on the DCC main track (address set to 00 on the throttle).

Weird. Any ideas? Decoders just fried? Thanks!

CV 19 hasn't been programmed to a consist address by accident?

Have you tried resetting the decoder to factory settings? That's become sort of my cure-all for these sorts of problems.

I tried a factory reset, however I've since realized that there could be 2 different decoders in these. Need to get info for both and try again.

    Thanks for the responses!

If they are factory N scale decoders I think there are two possible older Lenz designs they could be. I am not sure the factory reset is the same.

if they are N scale, the problem is the lack of contact to the motor leads. You have been bitten by the shoddy Atlas spring contact design.

The only fix is to solder the motor leads to the pads on the decoder.
