    Group,

I'm very disappointed my CSX Presidential unit arrived from atlas. Paint awesome, details great, and then I see the lights on cab above the window (used the conrail type body & cab) .... ((( insert several curse words))). I can't believe atlas made this mistake when they have the proper cab/shell units to slap this paint on, and they did the correct model in HO. THIS ANGERS ME...

I'd drop Atlas an email and ask why they made that mistake. Maybe they'll fix it and paint the correct shells for customers that want them. Never hurts to ask.

My guess, someone in QC failed their mission and the factory screwed up big time, but like you said, no excuse for that major error... :(

Not sure what happened here - the Presidential units we did for N Scale Enthusiast have the proper headlight. We're looking into it and we'll see what, if anything, we can do.

That makes me happy. Atlas has already noticed and is attempting to fix their error. (Personally I love the cab setup of the CR Dash-8's, the more the merrier!)

It really does not matter if it is a mistake made, or lack of doing a job, by Atlas or their manufacturer, the cold hard fact is, it is a lack of QC on some ones part. I think we see it way too often, especially for the prices they are demanding. I don't think it would be any better if manufacturing returned to the USA, because we, as a society, have accepted mediocrity in most everything today for too long. Manufacturers would have to change their ways, to a higher degree, and then they would want to increase pricing. Let's give a "Chairman's Award" to those who initially moved manufacturing across the pond in order to increase the bottom line.

Per Mr. Graf, "we'll see what, if anything, we can do. I know what Matt would do.

I am disappointed as well when I saw mine, and this were $5 more that the regular -8. I wonder if Atlas will do a recall or a shell swap like IM did with the NP F7's, ER with the waffle roofs and trainworx with the Rock Island 85' flats, just to name a few.

I wonder if the problem is only with this loco or all the CSX locos. I do not have one, the photos are from HO models. Paul said some where correct. Any other thoughts? Bob.

Just depends on which road numbers since the Conrail units have made it to repaint already in both the YN3 and YN2 schemes. As Sundowner already mentioned, the Presidential unit is the only one with the wrong cab.
