I noticed that Athearn brought back and upgraded version of the MDC 2-8-0 Consol. When I talked to them at TrainFest, they indicated that the MDC HOn3 tooling is too far gone. Was the 2-8-0 tooling in better shape or was that just their way of politely giving me the brushoff about making HOn3 models. At least Blackstone was straight-up about telling me that if we provide the numbers, they will make the models. Andy Tetsu Uma
I don't think anyone there is interested in HOn3, so don't expect to see anything. I went to the Carson swapmeet and they had nothing for HOn3 at all.
Yeah, I'm sure it's a business decision but that doesn't keep the optimist in me that I usually try to keep bottled up getting my hopes up. I would LOVE a RTR HOn3 Shay with all the features of other new models.
While this topic is fresh I have a question. What does the inside frame 2-8-0 kit build. A c-16, c-19....? Thanks.
I wish I could help but I've only used MDC Shays and then not very well. Anyone out there who has used the MDC 2-8-0 inside frame kit?
