I have replaced my old Walthers Roundhouse with the new Atlas 3 Stall model.

The old one was not deep enough to service the A Class Northerns, and now that a Z Class Malley has been assigned to our division, servicing must be done locally.

This picture shows a Kato/GHQ Mike I'm working on. The tender is not complete yet, awaiting some detail castings and paint. Also visible is the new wood deck on the turntable, in trying for a more Pacific Northwest flavor.

This next picture shows a little more of this module. I have replaced the track from Atlas code 80 to Peco code 55, and you can see more of the new Atlas Roundhouse. The brick mortar is Woodland Scenics Concrete Roadway paint that I thinned 50/50 with water, and sanded off when dried. I had to make the stacks out of styrene cause they were missing from my kit. I just painted the roof Grimey Black and weathered with chalk powder. I still need to finish the turntable too, it's handrails are not made yet.

I see something that is often missing. The parking area for shop employees. All those CMW vehicles look really nice! Makes the place seem more like it's alive with people.

Very good looking, and another detail I like is the old timey wood planked walkways between the stall tracks. Good job! :D

I love it! very well detailed :D
it makes me want to rip up some of my layout and build a roundhouse of my own.
I would then have to buy some steamers to fill it.
    My wallet wouldnt like that.

UPSteve, you can have diesels repaired and serviced at your roundhouse. There were several days I remember we had no steamers come in, only diesels to be serviced. If you want a diesel, there was one "N" steamer on ebay that sold for $25.00 awhile back so you could get one and use it for tourist excursion service, and fill up the other stalls with diesel engines. It was after the steamers died, that the roundhouses were replaced with common buildings to service then now that they don't have to be turned to head up a train. See? :D
