I like it!!! a little humor goes along way, anyhow talking about saftey. When I went to the train show a few weeks ago I got to talking to a fellow waiting in line. He stated the his brother-in-law has been involved in investigating RR crossing accidents for the past 30 years, I than asked have they declined in recent years with all the public awarness? He said NO!! there are more RR crossing accidents than ever before and alot to do with CDL driving trailer rigs? Talk about job security for investigators, we must not be doing such a good job when saftey at crossing is going up.
commercial drivers license "CDL" You must have one to drive large vehicles these days, tankers, tractor trailers, busses
Attachment works fine for me: version 2.0.0.11 apparently. WinXP SP2 and all the joy that entails. I wonder if a part of the crossing safety is the simple point that humans cannot judge how fast a train is going and most have no clue at all on how long it takes one to stop. Combine this with the facts that trains over there can get to be sooooo long and that everyone is impatient these days ("why back in my day... everyone was still impatient" ) and people think they can go around the barrier and across the tracks and get away with it. Sometimes they do. I'm sure many of you have anecdotal tales of stopping at the track to wait, and having the guy behind you go around you and the barrier arms.. We have a proportion of people try to go around the arms here, although most crossings outside the city have no barrier arms, just lights or a "stop" sign. Funnily enough, people who do stupid things on train tracks down here get into the news Now I'm tempted to make an N-scale billboard for a level crossing - "If you try to race the train, you will die! It will be no axy-dent."
