Hey Guys, I got out on Tuesday,6/15/04. But it was a very bumppy road.On 6/07/04,I checked out for 3 mins.Spent most of the time in ICU.Finished the treatments I went in for.Now I'm staying with my parents in South Jersey. I'm still very numb, but they say it will take time.Plus I walk like the town drunk! I want to thank everybody for your kind thoughts & prayers.I start rehab tomorrow.I don't klnow how long I'll be out of work for. But,at least I'm back to see bust you guys again! Mike
Mike, glad to hear you're back and on the road to recovery. Keep us updated on your progress. Take care, Bill
Welcome back. Trainboard will help you from going stir-crazy while you're on the mend. You only have 89,476 posts to catch up on. South Jersey? Send our regards to the Jersey Devil (not an N scaler, I'm guessing)!
Welcome back! However, I must admit I missed any earlier posts on this so I'm not sure what happened (or didn't happen from the sounds of things! ) Russ
mike, hope your recovery is swift, if you dont mind what were you suffering from? I think the best form of rehab is to do some modelling. Keep us updated on your progress.
Scary stuff. Glad to hear that you are on the mend. Surgery, no matter how routine, can have complications so it's pretty scary stuff. God bless! Russ
Hello, It's good that your out now. I hope you have an easy and fast road of recovery!!! My thoughts are with you. Take care! Sincerly, Rick
Hey Guys, I'm sorry, the Atlas guys knew,I assumed that most of us n scalers checked in there.I was checking in there, here,& a couple others. I have GBS.It's a condition that eats the nerves & muscles of your body.I WILL make a full recovery, but it will take time.Mike
Good lord, man! You are lucky to be alive! You must have had a milder case of it and a crackerjack doctor. The mother of a girl I lived with many years ago had it bad and was on a respirator within 36 hours of onset. She spent 6 months paralyzed in ICU before remission began. Go buy some lottery tickets. NOW! Glad you made it, man. That's some bad stuff...
Yowwch! I had never heard about GBS until Chad Cooper, a Va Tech football player from my area was stricken. http://www.hokiesports.com/football/players/2003/cooper.html He's back playing ball, but it was a battle. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I can't think of a better way to descibe my thoughts! I found a web site for this affliction. After reading some, I can see it's truly a nasty situation! Best Wishes for your recovery!!!! Boxcab E50
