Well its here and lapping out on the layout pulling 3 heavyweight pass cars fairly easily, although still a little rough. Seller said it hasnt been used in years, so its to be expected.

Gave it a bit of a lube job, and made the world of difference. Will say more later to see how much better it gets.

Next is to replace the couplers, havent even looked into that yet, but I saw another thread when searchin for this one on it, so will check that in a minute.

Would be interested to see if anyone runs overhead wires on their layout, would be interested to run one on there!

Would I buy another? Yes. Although some rivet counters may pick it to death, Im extremely happy to say, Im not one of them!

I like it, its so different to any other loco really.

Hmmm 1-C+C-1 would be nice (wish I bought that one in forsale section while back now!) to complete the different locos thingy.

    HTH someone.

It will run under wire. I rigged up a 20-foot straight in about 1975, using armature wire. The precision of wire placement soon led me to other pursuits in N-scale. It's possible, but extremely finicky. I never got to putting it on a layout.

    Yea I thought as much!

Although my son (who now says its HIS loco), wants to run the loco upside down (his interpretation of how to run it on the electrical thingys).

He now wants me to run wires around the layout!!!

In theory, the overhead wire could provide better contact than the rails. In practice????

How could the overhead provide better?
