CN train #752 (army train) with CN 5423 doing solo duty at Cobourg on 2005/10/28.
I ran out of fingers counting the cars, but I was amazed that a single unit was able to handle this consist.

I wonder if the loads are actually not that much total tonnage? Thus easier to handle with one unit?

Must be a unit heading out for some training.

  6. I have driven many Military Trains in the Netherlands. And even with similar power. But even with limited power... it takes just a longer time to get up to speed.

    Great pics! Nice shots!

wish my trains could handle something like that...........even my biggest engine (conrail C44-9w) cant haul more than 5 cars at the most (and thats even with traction tires.....must be the motor is going)

As a transportation officer for the US Army I can tell you these loads are extremely light in comparison to a loaded Coal car or containers full of goods. By looking at the vehicles they are Canadian Army, I believe the SUV looking trucks are actually Mercedes.
