These older units were supposably ex-conrail. I haven't done the research on the other two but the GP9M was an ex-CR unit that was rebuilt in 93 in Altoona. The GP9 and GP18 will be leaving Bliss. The GP10 was recently rebuilt by the Army and will be staying in El Paso as a back up to the new NRE 3GS21Bs.

Nice pics, We got a GG20B up at Fort McCoy but they have not run it since OCT-NOV due to GG20B's catching on fire!

    Do these look familiar???

Apparently all the Army GG20Bs are deadlined due to the little fire issue.

Are those US Army boxcars in service? That would be a real catch on the Sunset Route!

I caught them about 5 years ago after they were re-furbished. There was a whole string of them.

Sort of yes and sorta no,

They get shunted around Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, both on and off Main post, they are used to train the Railway Operating Detachments that train here. They use them to Train loading boxcars and building trains, if you look closely you'll see they have journal boxes on the trucks, so they aren't going far.

Some of these cars have the same R/Ns as the Micro-trains releases though...
