Interesting. Wouldn't it be fun to see them pick up a few more BIG unit's, and once again have six axle ALCOs rumbling along.

It looks like this unit is still in A&M colors. Does the WNY&P have a paint scheme of it's own?

The C630 should eventually be reptd. to WNY&P black body w/yellow lettering. Check the site for pix of the C425's. They look sharp & are kept fairly clean. More info is available on the site as well as on Yahoo groups -- lal_rail. It's an "open" group so you don't have to sign up.

I believe they are a pair of Privately owned PA's in Albany Oregon aroundthe Willamette and Pacific yard. Unfortunatly, the one I saw was literally a frame and a cab.

I heard from somebody here that they were being rebuilt.

Those would be the ex-Delaware & Hudson PAs that were returned from Mexico in rather sad shape, and are owned by Doyle McCormack, late of SP 4449 engineer fame. He plans on restoring one to look like a Nickel Plate Road PA (which they did have), but the next number higher up than NKP's last PA.

There was a pic or two somewhere around on TB (or at least a link), but I can't remember where.

AAlso, there has been a stir among some railfans over Doyle's decision to make these PAs look like NKP diesels, when after all they were originally built for Santa Fe. My opinion is this- they're HIS diesels, and if he wants to rebuild them I paint them up like Nickel Plate (and a nice paint scheme those "Bluebirds" had, too), it's his right. Heck, if he wanted to, he could paint 'em up pink, green & orange with red & blue trucks & call it the Giggle & Heehaw Number 6 7/8 (of course, knowing Doyle, he won't)-, critics be damned.

Should I find some news of a photo, I'll post a link here.

And remember, he was once the engineer on SP's GS4 4449, both in the American Freedom Train and SP Daylight colors, plus being an experienced SP engineer, so he knows his stuff- plus he's rebuilt other diesels, and has an RDS4 in NKP colors.

Found something bettre than a mer photo- a whole website dedicated to NKP 190 . There's still some internal work to be done, including the electrical cabinet, and several wrecked BCRail Alcos are being picked over for parts.

    Hope you enjoy the website!

Don't know if the Brooklyn roundhouse in Portland is accesible by raailfans, but the website may answer this question.

I believe this is the loco I've seen.
Although, as I said, I saw it in Albany, not at the Roudnhouse.

As I understand it, the Noprthwest Rail Museum does not own the roundhouse, UP does and its in the Yard, so there is no access.
