This was brought up in my layout update thread and I'm going to move it here to avoid going off track on there. But I mentioned that RLD Hobbies Custom Run BN GP40's weren't the only "BN" Units. I learned from a reliable source (my hobby shop is actually a distributor) that Aristocraft made 2 additional BN GP40's but they were not stamped for RLD Hobbies Custom Run Burlington Northern Set in anyway. I did some digging around the internet and came up blank. I thought I'd try again and from a German model site I found this listing on "Preorder": Aristo Craft Trains G 23517 GP-40 Pwr BN Now the custom run model number is 23590. That number above doesn't match the custom run number. So it may be likely that Aristocraft decided to produce the BN Road name in motive power one more time. But it cannot be because of success because those custom runs didn't exactly fly off the shelf. Whether or not it was due to the economy or not doesn't matter. I don't see how Aristocraft could be manufacturing Burlington Northern Again. Further research must be done, but Now i'm curious as to what's going on here. If in fact Aristocraft is doing another 2 road numbers in BN themselves, simply means I'm going to need a bigger storage track O.O
Why not? The BN 23517 is shown on several US hobby store sites, it's in the current Aristocraft catalog, it's also on the European Aristocraft pricelist - I don't have a US one, but I'm sure it's listed there as well. The GP-40 is planned to be available for 21 different railroads, why not for BN?
Well, Burlington Northern was one of several discontinued road names. They claimed their was no demand for it. We'll see though. Don't get me wrong, I hope they bring my road name back. But then again, let's not forget how many products Aristocraft listed in catalouges that never got made. So I guess time will tell. Here's hoping they do actually release them. But I was told that it was somehow linked with the custom runs, still looking into that one.
You got that right, I'm still sore that Aristo did not make the cylinder hopper that was listed for a long time, thats one of the reasons why I sold off my Aristo rolling stock.
