So I just got my Kadee Coupler set for my pair of 1991 FA-1/FB-1 units. Problem I have is, Trying to mount the coupler on the front of my FA-1 it doesn't fit in the position it's supposed to, it seems that my coupler pillar I fit it on is too tall for the Kadee to fit into place. I realize I'm going to have to slice off some length. But I wanted to ask if anyone else here has had front FA-1 Kadee Coupler mounting issues, and if they did have to slice off a portion of the pillar, what length should I be cutting off?

Have you tried contacting Kadee directly? My experience is that they are usually pretty good about fielding customers' questions. Short of that, I think the key word in your query is "slice." If you have to do it by trial and error, take off thin slices and test fit between cuts. It's always easy to take off a little more, but very hard to make the cut piece longer.
