I made an order from Nscale supply two weeks ago and have yet to receive the order. Do most of your online sources take this long? The best shipping time I've had so far is from my old LHS in Santa Clara, I call and they ship quickly.
They like to complete the order. If something is on back order they will hold shipment. Shoot them an e-mail and they will ship what they have.
If you order 10 boxcars and they each come in separately most etailors will be happy to send them out when they come in but unless otherwise instructed the vendor will hold them in what is generally called a "gooide box" until: You tell them to ship The complete order is in A certain dollar value of product to shipping cost ratio is reached Other circumstances include the vendor: Realizes part of the order will be significantly delayed Has an automated system in place I've ordered quite a bit from most of the N Scale vendors that advertise here and all of them have shipped in an appropriate amount of time. Hopefully this thread will not devolve into < insert name of company > is the best and stick to general experiences.
i have ordered from Nscale Supply and they have shipped out pretty quickly. i think i placed my order with them on a Thursday and i received my shipment the next friday. like was said earlier shoot them an email or call them.
I seem to always get prompt delivery of my online purchases but I always call the establishment and confirm that the items in mt order are in stock. I can't see any reason to be bashful about wanting details on your order. Delivery almost always controls who I order from. There is no sense creating animosity or stress over when you're getting the product. That's what phones and email are for.
This wasnt supposed to be a bashing thread, just wondering which etailers out there were prompt in shipping as well as communication. I did experiance one that shipped 6 weeks late due to a backorder and after multiple inquiries as well as insisting the backorded stuff be dropped they finally shipped. I have not used them again.
Most of the time I recieve my order with-in 10 days from my favorite e-tailer but on occasions it has taken longer due to not having a certain item in stock which is to be expected..I bet since you started this thread and are possibily going to call or e-mail the vendor panic stricken it will most likily show up in the mail Monday, that has also happened to me all that worry for nothing?
Hey just an idea? why not use a filter like ya do for naughty words that when certain words are used they show up like this***** same as on vendors than that way one someone starts to say I order for ******** and they suck you won't have to lock or edit the vendor name out? So with your naughty list filter add the names of e-tailers?
All of the bona-fide e-tailers have a place for you to give them special instructions. Let them know what you want; they can't read your mind. They can't know whether you care more about receiving an item promptly or saving money on shipping, unless you tell them. So leave them a special instruction saying "Please ship in-stock items immediately" or "Please hold my order until all items are in stock, or until such and such date", or "please contact me if such and such item is not in stock." etc. Whatever your preference is, if you care about it, it behooves you to communicate. Realize that in this business e-tailers usually don't find out when items are arriving until they are already shipping or until they acutally arrive (!). So cut them some slack and help them figure out how best to serve you.
One item is out of stock with no eta, I told them to skip that item and I would re-order that at a later time. Therefore all items ordered were in stock. I have projects of a time sensative nature dependant upon the order. I have always had good service from this e-tailer before, but now that I'm under the gun the delay is killing me.
I'm sure they mean no harm. It just follows along Murphy's Law. When you need something asap, you'll get it as late as possible. I don't think filtering business names is the best idea. Every once and a while we get outstanding customer satisfaction stories meant to highlight outstanding service. That can't be done if all we see is *****. Not to mention, if someone wants to bash a company, they'll go out of their way to side step the filter. If they filtered business names, you'd almost have to filter manufacturer names just to be fair, then we'd never know what's going on. ****** is releasing a Genset! What? Who?
Everyone who's posted, thanks. This was not meant to be a bashing thread by any stretch. I have had great success ordering from N scale supply. They are and still are my preferred supplier, I found this case to be out of the ordinary with regards to the delay. I have recieved the answer from them as to why the order was delayed and all is well. My appologies to the N scale supply team
This should close the problem, so I am closing the thread. No harm, no foul, which is often the case.
