This has been a 'coming event' rumor so long the only way to put it to rest is to post the photo. It's not just a rumor - 18 is running again and probably looks better on the A&A that it ever has before. This was taken May 31 at the end of day, with the fire banked:

Here's their web page with the schedule, basically 2 trains per day on weekends.

Arcade and Attica Railroad, Arcade NY, Nostalgic train rides and history, locomotives

18 was the first steam engine I ever saw operating, so posting this is a special thing for me.

    Very nice!

Do they still have some freight business?

Yes, they do. And they are about to get a major rail upgrade program to allow the railroad to handle heavier cars. Major customer is still Reisdorf's mill at N. Java.

Do they have potential for adding some new shippers? Is there a good site, with a system map, and possibly pointing out their customers?

18 seems to be a popular number for surviving steamers. The vagabond Grand Canyon-Hood River-Colorado LaVeta 18, equally vagabond McCloud River-Sierra-Virginia and Truckee 18. I know there are others. Any inputs?
