I'm off to Vegas for work 10th-Nov to 17th (at Sydney airport right now, actually! :^) Is there anything N scale (or any scale) happening this weekend? Any clubs open? I've got free time this weekend, but next week will be all 18 hour days. Are there any MR shops even half worth visiting for N scale items in Vegas? Cheers - and thanks!
Model Railroader lists three shops, so there must be someone modeling trains in Las Vegas. One store has a website. The Train Engineer / Lionel Trains
hey flip... I'll be winging my way into sin city on sunday 11-11. maybe we could meet up with Nscalemike and see the UP LA-salt lake line that runs thru vegas. drop me a P.M. Ed Dillard
Train Engineer I was in Vegas a fortnight ago and visited Train Engineer. It's mostly Lionel but a growing representation of HO and N. Mostly Atlas and Kato engines, not a huge diversity. I rapidly ran up a very large bill but figured the pound being what it is it would be a good investment. Fair selection of freight. Stocks digitrax which saved me a bucket load on buying this side of the pond. It's a ways out from the strip area. Rob
The only thing N scale most people find in Las Vegas is their bank account, i.e., it's 1:160 it's original size. Do let me know if you encounter anything. There's got to be a club or something in that area, though I do not know where. You may check Ntrak.org and see if there are any clubs in the area. Adam
Rio Parking Garage The Rio Parking Garage is a great, free, relatively safe, place to rail fan. If you are ever there in the summer the garage provides great shade....
awesome... i was thinking about seeing Penn & Tellor at the Rio... but I hate to see a show alone!!!! Ed
Again, thanks. The suggestion to cehck Ntrak.org for clubs was a good one - there is an Ntrak club out Henderson way (yes, yes). I've dropped them a note to see if they can handle a visitor at their next work meeting .. and the Train Engineer is on the way, and then on to Boulder city. Sounds like a plan. My Sunday just disappeared with business meetings. Augh. I'm one of the few folks who come to Vegas and work harder than when they're at work!
