Just wanted to see some big layouts, anything above a stanard bedroom size layout. We love to see some pictures!!!! I know I would!! Scott
Sorry. I don't have the exact web links, but search for and check out freymodell.de It's in German but there are about 200 plus pictures if you scroll down near the bottom. A 1-man layout in N that took 29 years to build and is run by 19 computers. Also, for HO check out Miniatur Wunderland/Hamburg. Another German site with English pages. The layout occupies a whole building and is still expanding. I believe it has a fulltime staff of over 100. Dave.
Sorry, no pics. Page 23 of Jan/Feb 2009 N Scale magazine shows part of my main classification yard. 54'x27', the main class yard takes up one whole long wall on the lower level.
Show Off! :tb-biggrin:That layout sure looks nice. I am sure you host operating sessions, do you keep a calander? Not that I live close enough, but some videos would be cool. I can hear you now. Who made that 55 car train when you know 54 is the max! Some day, but for now I don't think mine qualifies as large as my train length max is only 10.
Just curious. What do we consider 'big'? Would that be room sized, garage sized... basement sized? For instance... my layout when finished is going to be 16.5' x 8' "E" shaped. I consider it 'medium' size.
When I first started in N many years ago my layout was considered "big". Now it's more in the medium range. (14 feet by 20 feet).
I consider Todd Treaster's layout to be large. I think it's about 35' X 48'. There are photos on both pages of the thread. Atlas Model Railroad Co. - Open House, at the NY,S&A
Scott , Your layout is very nice and well done.. I have admired your work for a long time.. Your F's are fantastic.. I will have them out the end of the month.. Well anyway heres a couple of shots of my layout.. Thanks David, I guess you could say it is large.. Todd Treaster, NY,S&A
Holy Smokes! My 2 favorite layouts in 1 thread! I have both of your layout spreads in NSR on top of the pile. Scott, I love the pictures you posted. Todd, yours also. Being able to see the overall layout photos, gives both a better perspective of just hhow large & detailed both layouts are. Thanks.:thumbs_up:
