I just got this Bmann lighted caboose, On30, in the mail yesterday. I want to remodel it by making it shorter and adding some people. Have any of you taken this car apart? Is there a way without cutting the electrical wires? Thanks, Jim

If this caboose is put together the same way as their passenger cars, I am fairly certain you'd need to cut wires. I could never figure a way to disassemble the On30 passenger cars, without cutting wires.

Box, Okay. I thought so. Now where are my wire cutters? Thanks, Jim

Just curious- Have you ever looked at the laser kits Mount Blue Model Company offers? I know he had a couple which were made to use Bachmann caboose chassis. They did seem interesting to me and I have heard good things said, but I never got around to ordering anything.

Box, I'd forgotten about them to be honest. I was looking at another laser company and they too wanted $40 and no wheels/trucks or couplers. I got the Bmann caboose for less than that complete with lighting. I'm going to make a 'shorty' out of it. Throughout my modeling career I've always enjoyed the challenge of 'shrinking' plastic cars. If you can, please take photos as you progress. Following the whole process would be quite interesting!
