I've been looking through plans for ideas and really like the S&R layout. Seems like it would make a good door (or shorter). I'm thinking of shrinking it using 9 3/4 snaptrack for the curves. Why-because I have a bunch and want to use it! I know about go as big as you can, etc etc, but when $$ is an object-use what ya got. I started a Gorre and Dephided on a 30X48, but didn't finish it. Changed my mind. What I'm thinking is the S&R, minus the yard along the bottom. Make that a passing track. add a spur for some sort of to a mine or two, leave an interchange track, and it just became a small branchline. I really want to just run some small steam and 4axle diesels that I have, and use up my track and small atlas bidges, etc. I'm also looking into HCD with broad enough curves for 6axles/intermodal trains and big steam. Maybe I'll just wrap that around the tight stuff? Has anyone re-drawn the S&R for min. radius snaptrack yet? Figured I'd check before I do. When I get it drawn (assuming its not already) I'll post it. Brian
Brian, I have always liked the S&R RR. Even thought about building it back in 1987 but couldn't fight the pull of the double track twin level GSL & SVRR the next chapter over. I have not redrawn it but am interested in watching your progress. Keep us posted as you go with pictures. Happy Railroading! John
