Does anyone have any photos of May Trucking Co. pup trailers (proto photos)? (May is an Oregon based trucking company whose trailers were regulars behind hot SP trailer trains on the I-5 corridor). An internet search has turned up a big goose egg for me. Thanks
Dave, They are Based right up the road from me! Don't know if they have Pup trailers any more?I'll take a look though.
Wow - a reply in 4 minutes, on a fairly obscure topic, no less! Trainboard rocks! Very cool, Scott - thanks. I went to their website, which had a few photos of what looked like 53'-ers w/ new tractors. I've found a couple of pics of the pups in some books I've got, but they are buried in the consist, not close at all. . .
Hey dave- Here is a start: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/df_may.htm Go to http://www.hankstruckpictures.com and go to the bottom and do a search for May and I'm sure you'll eventually get a good pciture. I use this site often when I am checking out Intermodal trailers. GoSteelers ATSF Chillicothe Subdivsion
Dave, I've been driving trucks out of Reno in the western states for the past 5+ years. I cannot recall seeing any May Trucking pup trailers in all that time. But if you have them in a pic and you want them on your layout......go for it. NSseeker
Thanks for the link, GoSteelers. This one's a cool shot - what states allow triple 28's on the road? The first trailer back looks similiar to the Athearn pups - the second & third have a different lower profile above the tire (I'm not a trailer expert. . .) From the sounds of it, May might not be running pups anymore, but they definitely had them in the 90's [ May 15, 2005, 05:03 PM: Message edited by: dave n ]
