Anybody's Tuscan GG1 sound different from their Pennsy Green version?

I just got a new Tuscan GG1 and put it on the test track for a bit of run time. I noticed immediately that the engine sound is noticeably different from my first run #4935 PRR Green version. The 4935 motor is quieter and lower in pitch. The Tuscan version is (again) noticeably louder and higher in pitch. It doesn't sound quite like a dentist drill, but sort of. It seems to run smooth enough so I'm not sure if this is normal for these new Tuscans or if "it ain't right", as Hank Hill would say.

Bearing needs lubrication? I usually think of this with a "squeal" sound.

Do the two engines run together or do they have different speeds?

Check to make sure that the trucks are properly snapped into place and also that the metal electrical pick-up strips are properly positioned over the contacts on the trucks. The shipping from Japan is a bit rough on these at times and the trucks can become dislodged. An easy fix if you know what you're looking for. Good luck.

How do I do that Jack? Just press them into the frame? I did check the pickup tabs and they look okay.

I ran it for a good few hours and it seemed to have helped. I didn't do any lube because that's (from what I've read) not receommeded for Katos. Didn't lube my Brunswick either.

David. after a bit of break in they don't quite run at the same speed, but both run very smootly. I dropped in the TCS K1D4 and it now sounds a bit more like the other one (I pulled my decoder out of the green one when doing the DC check). I think I'll let it run for a bit more.
