I’m using RealTrax and I want to build a Curved Wood Truss Bridge with ScaleTrax Flex Track. My question is does ScaleTrax connect directly to RealTrax? I’m only using 60” of the ScaleTrax Flex Track and all the rest is RealTrax.

I need to know for sure because so far I’ve had numerous problems with adapters to Tubular track and Radius measurements. I have to order everything on the internet sight unseen.

I’m temporally using curved RealTrax just to make it work, but I don’t like it at all.

    Hi Johnny,

Well there is a difference between the rail sizes of RealTrax and ScaleTrax. The ScaleTrax is about 1/3 smaller than RealTrax. Also they don't mate, unless MTH sells a conversion piece. I have some ScaleTrax and it seems closer to the Atlas 2 rail flex in size. If you are willing to do some soldering you could use the two if MTH has no conversion section. Good luck and keep us apprised on what you end up doing.

Thanks for replying. I was just about to order some and take my chances, now I’m glad I didn’t. Last week I ordered a half curve just to get my Christmas layout up and running, but it didn’t even get shipped until this week.

I was just about to give up on it for this week when it finally showed up this afternoon. When I laid it out on my old Viaduct, I discovered that it will not fit at all, so I’m in the middle of building a new one. I just cut the strips of wood to be laminated together for my outside curve. Once that dries I’ll start on the inside with spacers in between then let it sit overnight to fully cure before sanding and painting.

This photo shows the old curved bridge and the start of the new one.\ [IMG]
