Does anyone have pics of the disassembled new J class. Mostly looking for motor placement and Kitbash-ability.

    Okay, you wise guys! :D

Funny maybe, but who is getting SPsteam pictures of the innards? Huh! How funny is it that the man is typing when he should be kitbashing! :happy19pb:

The N&W J is going to be rather limited for kitbashing for most 4-8-4s and many 4-8-2s with its 70" drivers. I don't know what the drivers on the model actually scale out to but they probably are too small for most Northerns; just like the ConCor S2 / GS4 is too large. Many Northerns were in the 72"-78" range which to me is just off enough to make a difference in overall proportion of the locomotive.

The drivers look awfully small. If the measurement stated on another forum is correct, the driver diameter is .412 which scales out to about 66". Might be OK for some 4-8-2's.

I appreciate your comedic response Rt 66.

Anyways, the SP mountains had 73" drivers, so anything in the range of 70 and up would work for this kitbash. I've done one with a bachmann 4-8-2, but the loco is rather small for the job. I've considered a MP pacific as a base platform, but would like to start with a platform with 4 drivers.
So, I look forward to some picks of the J with her top off. (no pun intended):teeth:
