I'm working on a portable layout.I have some extra C70 track,I kinda think I'd like to use Atlas C65 switches on it,since they're cheap, and self contained, and will easily adapt to ME C70.Anybody use any? Are they reliable?

I had 6 True-Track switches on my test layout along with the track, but changed it all to Kato Unitrack due to operational difficulties.
The switches worked without any hitches, but some of my older steamers did not like them and derailed all the time. It seems the tight radius of 12 1/2" and the narrow frogs were not made for these old-timers. No problem with Unitrack.
So it depends on what you will be running on these switches.
I had no reliability problems with them during the time I had them.

I'll be running mostly old,but small, steam, the biggest thing it will see is a 2-6-4T,or maybe a 2-8-0.I could probably solve any actual track issues, just wondering how the switches were as far as frogs staying powered, switch motors working, nothing falling apart,ETC..

My only opinion is that there need to be more options.....two sectional track turnouts is not enough in the lineup.

Our customers that have used them, like them a lot with no problems although most of them started with the Trainman GP15 set and expanded from that so that is the loco used as a benchmark.

i like them because they have metal frogs, like unitrack. im wondering if atlas is going to expand the line. im about tired of waiting.
