Has anyone heard if any of the manufacturers are planning to do some? I know the HO guys get first dibs most of the time, but most of us that model modern N scale operations probally feel the same about wanting this loco. And since they're usually in pairs, that means most of us would buy at least two. Almost every major railroad has them, so there is variety in roadnames and there are a couple of different versions. So if any of you corporate guys that make product decisions are reading this, how about it? Why should the HO guys have all the fun?

I think there was a rumor a while back that Atlas was going to make them in N.
I hope it's true, as I would love to have a few of them running around the layout.

I think someone is doing them in brass but I’ve heard nothing about a mass-market plastic version.

One problem with the Gen-Set is there aren’t enough of them in any one version to allow a manufacture such as Atlas to have much to work with.

For example if they did the version Union Pacific owns they would n’t be able to put any other road-name on it without the rivet-counters and proto-police throwing a fit.

Perhaps a “Trainman” version wherein Atlas can take some liberties with “prototypicality”.
