I bought a Intermountain AC-12 4-8-8-2 Cab Forward last year and decided to wait a while to buy the decoder. Now I’m ready to buy the decoder and the place where I bought the AC12 doesn’t have it any more. I know they are still available on line, but I haven’t been keeping up with all the new technology and I’m confused as to why my place doesn’t sell them anymore. Has there been a change or maybe a newer version to the SoundTraxx Micro-Tsunami Decoder (TSU-750)? I don’t want to spend this kind of money only to find a newer better one coming out.
I am not sure why they aren't selling them, but there is the Soundtraxx Tsunami 750 like you have quoted and also ESU makes the Loksound Micro as well. Zimo also has a pricey sound decoder that will also work. There hasn't been much advancement, everyone is at the 16 bit technology point, so there is no new decoders except maybe from MRC that may work any different. Decoders seem to stay stagnant once released for several years.
Ok thanks, I just wanted to be sure before I bought one. Well I guess I’ll start looking for a good price.
