I have started to lay down some peco flex track (straight only).
I know this will start some discussions about the best way to lay flex track on curves. I was going to solder the track at the joiners. I would then determine how long the turn was (6 ft or longer) and solder enough track together to make the curve and then bend the entire segment.
Does this sound OK or is there an easier/better way?
    Thanks to all that respond!

This will not work very well unless you are doing an "S" curve. This is because the outer rail needs to be longer than the inside rail and your track would bind up when the soldered rail joiners hit the ties as they try to reposition themselves around the curve. The way I do it is to start laying the track down and pinning it in place as I go. Peco track does not have holes in the ties like Atlas track so I use "bulletin board" type push pins where I can push them in far enough so that the shoulder of the hour glass shape rests against the top of the rail. I usually use one pin across from each other on each side to hold both rails every few inches. When I get within a few inches of the point where a new section of track needs to be joined on, I clip the longer inside rail back to the length of the outer rail. I leave enough space without ties to solder on the rail joiners and solder the new piece on leaving it straight so the joint in the rails is not kinked. Then I bend the few inches of track on the curved section into place and continue on with the new section. I pin them down as I go. You can either lay a bead of glue down on the road bed first before laying the track or squirt some glue down between the ties after things are pinned in place.

When you bend flex track one rail will recess some and the other protrude therefore soldering several sections together may cause some problems when you start to align your curves. Probably will be far better to wait until you have everything just where you want it before soldering.

    Hi Jeff,
Solder 2 lengths of track together on the flat and straight, when cooled off turn it over and cut out two ties from each piece of track. Now you can bend it around the corner without fear of it binding. Once laid, just slip in underneath the ties you cut off remembering to cut off the pieces which held the rail in place.
