Any guesses as to what roadname Kato will release next for the NW-2? I have one of the Milwaukee Road ones and one of the SP units. These are solid little locomotives, and I am quite impressed with many aspects of the design.

    Let me see. We've had:

    ATSF
    CB&Q
    Chessie
    Southern Pacific
    Union Pacific
    Pennsylvania RR
    Milwaukee Road

(I hope I am not leaving anyone out.)

I would love to see what they come out with next.

I know Santa Fe's already been done in blue, but how about zebra stripes please.

Zebra stripes would have been the logical ATSF scheme for Kato to do first as the blue scheme doesn't belong in the same era as the Kato Super Chief.

    Rio Grande
    #100 or #7000
Or any variation of the two, which were one and the same.

Geez, youse guys are good guessers

Here's what a little birdie told me will be coming soon for the NW2's

Union Pacific (Black & Yellow, as delivered 'Route of the Streamliners) 2 numbers
Rio Grande (Black & Orange "Pampered Pet") 2 numbers
Santa Fe (Black & Silver for the Zebra fans) 2 numbers
Santa Fe (Blue & Yellow warbonnet) 2 numbers
Southern Pacific (Grey & Scarlet) 2 numbers
Conrail (Blue & White) 2 numbers
Burlington Northern (Green & White) 2 numbers

I have no idea when these will be released or in what order, my advice is to start saving now.

At the rate Kato have been releasing them so far they should get through these in about two years.

I started thinking, that I'd have to get
a couple of UP, so I could repaint into Rio Grande.

I'm a UP buff, so this one would be my choice. They released this in HO I believe. When the first UPs were released in yellow/gray, which was my first choice, I had thought the black/yellow would have been the first chronologically. I was not disappointed though.

They already did SP tiger stripe. You can pick them up still at several of the TB vendors.

Indeed. The only commercially-available BSB units I know of (minus custom painters) are the Atlas U25B & SD9, and the F7 from Intermountain.

Like this one? I painted it for a Trainboard member a couple years ago now.
