Is there any Digitrax Zephyr owners out there that would mind answering a few questions for me offline? I'd like to thank PowerSteamGuy for helping me out some with the Lenz system, I like the Lenz 90, at least from what I've read, but other than the 2.5 amps it adds to the track voltage I can't see a great difference (other than $130) that it has over the Digitrax. I'd appreciate anyone that would be willing to help me make my decision concerning either the Digitrax or Zephyr. Email Jeff
Jeff, what do you want to know? I got a Zephyr last month and have been having a blast with it. I purchased an Atlas GP-38 with decoder and have converted two of my older locos. I love the system so far. It also outputs 2.5 amps. So far I've only run 3 locos but I've read that it can easily handle 6 n-scale locos with no problems. Let me tell you, on a 2'x4' layout, 3 locos are a handful!
Jeff: There are many features that The Digitrax Zephyr doesn't have that is incorporated in the Lenz 90 system. All you have to do is refer to the chart I posted for you in another thread. The choice of systems is your decision. Research it thoroughly before you make a final decision. Price alone is not the best criteria for a system that you 'll be able to expand with. Stay cool and run steam.....
